Morro das Pedras is a well-known surf spot on the southern coast of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. It’s a scenic beach break with a more exposed, ocean-facing setup than many of the city’s calmer beaches, so it tends to pick up solid swell and can offer powerful, punchy waves.

Conditions

Morro das Pedras often works best when there’s enough swell to activate the beachbreak peaks, but not so much that it becomes overly disorganized. Because the sandbanks move around, conditions can change frequently from session to session. On the right day, it can produce fun, quality rights and lefts with some size and speed.

Atmosphere

The spot is set in a beautiful natural area with a more local, laid-back vibe compared to some of Florianópolis’ more crowded surf beaches. It’s close to other famous southern island breaks, making it a good part of a surf road trip around the island.
