Areias is a lesser-known surf break in the Eastern Group of the Azores, offering a raw, Atlantic-facing setup with a more secluded feel than the island’s better-known spots. It typically picks up ocean swell very well, especially from the north and northwest, and can produce powerful, clean waves when conditions line up.
