Transit reef

Transit Reef (Rottnest Island, Perth, Western Australia) is a reef break off Rottnest Island, west of Perth, known for its exposed Indian Ocean swell and scenic island setting. It’s one of the more exposed surf spots around Rotto, so it can pick up plenty of wave energy when the conditions line up.

Transit Reef can offer fast, powerful, and hollow waves when the swell is up, but it can also be unforgiving due to the reef setup. It’s not usually the kind of wave that stays small and mellow for long—when it turns on, it can be quite serious.
