Quobba

Quobba, Western Australia (North West) is a remote, rugged surf destination on the Ningaloo Coast, north of Carnarvon. It’s known for powerful Indian Ocean swells, dramatic limestone cliffs, and very exposed reef breaks that can produce long, fast, hollow waves when conditions line up.

What it’s like

Quobba is famous for its raw coastline and the nearby “Blowholes,” where waves crash into the rock shelf and shoot water up dramatically. The surf here can be excellent, but it’s not forgiving: reefs are shallow, entry/exit can be tricky, and the spot is best suited to surfers comfortable in powerful waves and remote conditions.

• Wind: Offshore or light easterly winds are typically best
• Swell: Solid southwest or west swells usually produce the best waves
