Injidup Point

Injidup Point is a highly regarded surf break in Western Australia’s Margaret River region, just north of the main Margaret River surf zone. It’s a scenic, exposed reef/point setup known for its powerful waves, clear water, and rugged coastal setting.

• Best surfed on a mid-to-high tide depending on swell size and shape
• Can deliver longer, more defined rides than many nearby beach breaks

Wave character

• Produces fast, punchy, and sometimes hollow waves
• Can handle a decent amount of swell, with shape improving when the banks/reef line up
• Often better for intermediate to advanced surfers
• On the right day, it can offer clean rights and lefts depending on conditions, though it’s generally known as a right-hand point-style wave

Best conditions

• Swell: Works well with consistent southwest to west swell
• Wind: Best in light offshore easterly winds
• Tide: Often prefers mid tide, but this can vary with swell size
• Size: Comes alive with solid groundswell, though it can be surfed smaller when clean

Hazards / considerations

• Reef and shallow sections can make wipeouts unforgiving
• Can be powerful and crowded when conditions are good
• Local knowledge is helpful because the takeoff and channel positioning can be tricky
• Strong rips and shifting conditions are possible in bigger surf

Vibe and setting

• Beautiful, wild coastline with rocky headlands, clear water, and open ocean exposure
• Less of a mellow beginner spot, more of a serious wave in a spectacular location
• Part of a region famous for quality surf, including nearby breaks like The Right, Margs, and Gracetown area spots
