Honeycombs

Honeycombs is a well-known reef break in Margaret River North, Western Australia, just north of the main Margaret River surf zone. It’s a powerful, often fast and hollow wave that works best on the right swell and tide combo, and it’s generally considered a spot for experienced surfers.

What to expect

Honeycombs can offer quality waves when the Banks and winds line up, but it’s not usually a beginner-friendly wave. The reef layout can create sections that are steep and powerful, with a chance of long rides when it’s on. On larger days, it can be quite heavy and intimidating.

Like many Margaret River area spots, it’s a surf location where conditions and local knowledge matter a lot. Crowds can build when it’s good, and the spot is best approached with respect for the reef and the power of the waves.
