Kelpbeds Bommie is a remote, exposed reef-and-bommie surf break on the rugged coast of Fitzgerald River National Park in southern WA. It’s known for holding powerful Southern Ocean swell and offering a raw, uncrowded wave in an isolated natural setting. The break sits over kelp-covered reef and can produce a fast, punchy wave with hollow sections when conditions line up. Because it’s exposed and offshore wind-sensitive, it typically works best in clean conditions with a good southwest swell. Access is difficult and the area is remote, so it’s best suited to experienced surfers comfortable with rugged coastline hazards, reef impact, and changing conditions.
