Parsons is a remote, exposed reef break on the west coast of South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula, known for its powerful waves, clean lines, and serious consequence when it gets big. It’s one of those spots that can be world-class when the swell, wind, and tide line up, but it’s definitely not a casual or beginner-friendly wave.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Fast, punchy reef break with both lefts and rights depending on the setup.
• Swell exposure: Very exposed to Southern Ocean swell, so it can pick up a lot of energy and get heavy quickly.
• Wind: Best in light/offshore winds, usually with clean conditions coming after a southerly or southwest change depending on the day.
• Tide sensitivity: Can be quite tide-dependent; the reef and wave shape change a lot with water level.
