Berry Bay is a scenic, exposed beach break on the western side of South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula, known for its long stretches of sand, powerful Southern Ocean swell, and a rugged, remote feel. The spot can produce fast, hollow waves when conditions line up, especially with a solid southwest swell and favorable offshore winds. Because it’s so exposed, it can get very powerful and challenging, with shifting sandbanks, strong currents, and variable conditions.

It’s generally considered a wave for experienced surfers rather than beginners, particularly when the swell is up. The setting is beautiful and relatively uncrowded compared with more accessible mainland breaks, making it appealing to surfers looking for a quieter, more natural beach-break experience.
