Bashams bommie

Bashams Bommie is a well-known reef break on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula, near the southern end of the peninsula and not far from the Yorke coastal surf zone. It’s named for the offshore bommie (a rocky reef outcrop) that helps shape the wave and create a powerful, hollow right-hand surf when conditions line up.

Bashams Bommie typically works best with: - Swell: South to southwest groundswell - Wind: Northerly to northeast winds are often cleaner - Tide: Usually better on a mid to lower tide, though it can vary with swell size

When it’s on, the wave can offer clean walls with sections that open up quickly, but it can also get shallow and unforgiving, especially on bigger swells.
