Sheringa Left

Sheringa Left is a well-known left-hand reef/point-style wave on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, near the small coastal town of Sheringa. It’s one of the better-regarded surf spots on that stretch of coast, offering a clean, peeling left-hander when the conditions line up.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Left-hand point/reef break
• Quality: Can be very good, with long, orderly walls and sections for trimming and turning
• Best for: Intermediate to advanced surfers, especially when it’s firing
• Crowds: Usually much lighter than major metro surf zones, but it can still draw keen locals and traveling surfers when the swell is on

• Wind: Typically best with light offshore or clean conditions; strong onshore winds can make it messy
