Neill St – Dicky Beach is a beachbreak on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, just north of Caloundra. It’s a fairly accessible, local-favourite setup with waves that break along the open sandbanks rather than over reef, so conditions can change a lot with tides, swell size, and recent sand movement.

What it’s like

Best for: Beginner to intermediate surfers when it’s small and clean; more advanced surfers when the banks line up and it gets punchier.
Wave quality: Usually fun and playful rather than world-class, but can produce decent, hollow sections on the right swell.
Crowds: Can get busy because it’s close to town and easy to access.

Swell: Works best with east to southeast swell.
Wind: Cleaner in westerly to southwesterly offshore winds; onshore easterlies can make it messy.
