The trench

The Trench is a surf spot on the North Sydney / Northern Beaches stretch of New South Wales, Australia. It’s known as a more exposed, heavier ocean break than many of the region’s easier beachbreaks, and it tends to attract surfers looking for powerful waves rather than mellow cruisers.

What it’s like
