Angourie Lefts is a classic A-frame reef break on the far north coast of New South Wales, Australia, near Yamba in the village of Angourie. It’s known for producing fast, hollow, quality left-handers over a reef/rock bottom, with long walls and, on the right swell, very clean barreling sections.

What it’s like

When conditions are smaller or less perfect, it still offers a long, playful wall, but larger swells can make it serious and heavy.

Swell: Solid southeast groundswell
Wind: Light offshore westerlies or southwest winds
Tide: Often best around mid to higher tide, though this depends on swell size and sand/reef interaction
Skill level: Best for intermediate to advanced surfers; can be challenging for beginners due to power and shallow sections
