Lakes Beach

Lakes Beach (Central Coast, NSW) is a scenic open beach surf spot with a relaxed, uncrowded feel compared with some of the better-known breaks in the region. It sits on the Central Coast of New South Wales and is exposed to open-ocean swell, so it can pick up plenty of energy when conditions align.

• Wave type: Mostly beachbreak, with shifting peaks along the sandbars
• Best for: Surfers comfortable reading changing conditions and paddling in open beach conditions
• Wave quality: Can be fun and rippable on the right sand setup, but consistency varies with tides and swell direction
• Power: Moderate to punchy when swell is up
